Basics: Learning is Communism

The second line would give links and instructions on how to obtain hard copy prints of the texts.

This is a test, using the unused Linda Jabane blog. It is testing a new format and procedure for the Communist University.

The CU will run its Generic Courses weekly, in parallel, through different blogs and e-mail distribution groups (Google Groups) according to different schedules. To be feasible, it will need to take a routine form. This is a trial run of that routine form.

Links will be the top of the page. This is because the CU will from now on use the “Read More” feature, so that the blog will in the first place show only a few paragraphs, followed by a “Read More” link that takes the reader to the full post page, including its Comments section.

On any particular blog, there will usually be one part of one of the Generic Courses running each week. On the first day, a link to the main reading will be offered at the top, while in the second line, the same will be offered again, together with a link to the same material on an Internet page, the Introductions to the part of the course, the course as a whole, and to the Index for the course.

If we can make printed versions available, another line will be added giving the reference and linking to full instructions as to how to order, pay for and collect your hard-copy texts.

A post will be made for every working day, timed to arrive before the commencement of each working day. So there will normally be a post on Sunday, for Monday, and then each day up to Thursday, for Friday.

After the first (main) discussion text, every attempt will be made to post a fresh (supplementary) reading text for download each day. These may be the ones already picked out as additional texts in the Generic Courses, but they may include others.

The text of the blog itself will relate as much as possible to the material of the day. It will draw on the Intro for the topic as given in the Generic Courses, but it will not be identical to the Intro.

Comments have been improved in the hope that some of the debate around the texts can be accommodated on the blog (i.e. in public).
