The SACP works to organise, educate and lead the working class.

For the immediate purpose of this set of studies called Basic Communism, it is necessary to have a theory of “pedagogy”, or in other words a theory of learning and teaching. This theory we get from Paulo Freire, the great 20th-century theoretician of liberation pedagogy.

This is a test, using the unused Linda Jabane blog. It is testing a new format and procedure for the Communist University.

The CU will run its Generic Courses weekly, in parallel, through different blogs and e-mail distribution groups (Google Groups) according to different schedules. To be feasible, it will need to take a routine form. This is a trial run of that routine form.

Test Blog

This is the first test post to the Linda Jabane blog. It should appear on the blog, and also send an e-mail of the post to the Google Group at http://groups.google.com/group/LJ-SACP-JHB.

The Google Group should then send an e-mail to all the members of that Group. Members of the Google Group can then reply to the e-mail, and their replies will go to other members of the group.

Ordinary members of the Google Group will be able to post to that group using its e-mail address, which is LJ-SACP-JHB@googlegroups.com.

Then, it should be possible for anyone to add a Comment. The Comments are not restricted, but they could be, in various ways.

Only certain people can post to the blog. You can add new bloggers easily. You could have other DEC members as bloggers on the same blog, for example. Right now it is Domza with one address, and Trevor Konela with one address.

Pages with their own URLs can be made on the Google Group web site. File uploads can also be done there, creating a downloadable archive with a linkable URL for each file.
